What's New 6th Annual Fish & Chips Golf Tournament and Fly-Fishing Derby Thursday, September 9, 2010 $100,000 was raised at the 5th Annual Tournament & Derby. Proceeds from the event are directed towards Horizon Housing Society's next affordable housing initiative coupled with mental health support programs. Heritage Gardens Horizon Housing Society was the recipient of 9.2M in capital from Alberta's Affordable Housing Request for Proposals as well as over $800,000 from The Calgary Homeless Foundation. These funds were used towards the purchase of Heritage Gardens, which will provide an additional 95 units of affordable housing within the community. Stampede Barbeque On July 14th Horizon Housing Society held its 2nd Annual Stampede Barbeque at Alice Bissett Place. More than 200 tenants and Horizon supporters enjoyed traditional Stampede fare cooked up by Horizon Housing Society Board and Staff. Music, prizes and complimentary coffee provided by Tim Horton's Community Cruiser helped set the stage for another successful Stampede event! The Society would like to thank The Real Canadian Superstore - Shawnessy, Costco - NE, Walmart Supercentre - Deerfoot and Sobeys - Deer Run for their generous donations, which made this event possible. We look forward to seeing everyone out again next year!                   2nd Annual Partner Appreciation Event On April 15th Horizon Housing Society held its 2nd Annual Partner Appreciation Event to recognize the collaborative efforts of our community partners.
