Spreading Cheer with Horizon Housing’s Residents

On November 25, Horizon Housing celebrated the season with its fifth annual Tenant Holiday Party! Each year, the event has become more and more popular, with residents arriving on three holiday shuttle buses from Horizon Housing’s seven apartment buildings throughout the city.

Over 250 residents, staff, volunteers and government representatives gathered at the Kerby Centre to ring in the holidays. There were many smiles as guests enjoyed food and drinks, carolers, games, door prizes, and even a popcorn and candy bar!

Michael B., a tenant from Horizon Housing’s Bob Ward Residence looks forward to the event each year. “I attend all of Horizon Housing’s tenant events. All the games and prizes they have planned really make the event fun. The staff and volunteers are always friendly and make us feel welcome and appreciated.”

Brownlee LLP sponsored the event for the fourth year in a row and had several staff come out for the day to volunteer. “We believe in this event so much that we look forward to volunteering for it even in the early New Year. The joy on everyone’s face and the love that resonates is really something that is so special.” said Kayla Dunn, Legal Assistant at Brownlee LLP. “We believe everyone deserves to have a wonderful holiday season and this event truly makes that happen for everyone involved. We hold Horizon Housing and their tenants very close to our hearts.”
