Horizon Housing Leadership Transition Plan

On August 31, Kim O’Brien officially departed from Horizon Housing to take a position as President and CEO with United Active Living. Kim led Horizon Housing for over nine years and has been a tremendous trailblazer, not only within the organization, but also as a strong voice and advocate for the affordable housing sector. Kim leaves Horizon Housing in capable hands with a clear plan to move forward with the mission of providing affordable homes to people in need.

As Horizon Housing’s Board of Directors undertakes the important work of recruiting a new CEO, they have established an interim leadership plan to ensure the organization continues to advance its current strategic priorities, while maintaining the strength of day-to-day operations and uninterrupted delivery of quality homes to tenants.

Horizon Housing’s Board of Directors has appointed Louise Fisher as Interim CEO. With over 20 years of experience with Horizon Housing and in her current role as Manager, Administrative Services and Human Resources, Louise brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.

To ensure continuity of engagement with Horizon’s valued stakeholders, Arianne Brady has been appointed Interim Director of Stakeholder Relations. She also remains responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications and will be focused on ensuring ongoing communications and engagement with our stakeholders.

Horizon Housing’s Board of Directors and Management Team have the utmost confidence and trust in the existing team. The depth of knowledge and quality of leadership will ensure a smooth transition during the appointment of a new CEO with a continued commitment to Horizon Housing’s vision, mission and values.
